A Face Only A Father Could Love

My eldest daughter has taken a recent interest in making silly faces in photos.  Actually, that's not entirely true.  There is only one face in particular that she enjoys making.  If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing this little jewel of a face in person, this photo is the next best thing.

I was certain this was a pose Leah had picked up from her very lady-like Aunt Crystal, but her Aunt denies it entirely and I believe her; she would have gladly taken credit for it.  While we are unaware of the origin of "The Face", we are completely aware of it's popping up in almost every picture.

It's hard enough to get a decent snapshot of a child; one with eyes open, looking at the camera, and smiling.  Now, with our daughter demanding that she be allowed to demonstrate the elasticity of her lips every time the camera is out, capturing those perfect photos has become even harder.

Not a bad photo right?
I like a funny face photo as much as the next Dad, but it doesn't really need to be in every picture.  If I do manage to capture one nice shot...

And then there's "Take Two".  Look at the baby's face; even she thinks it's ridiculous.

...she will ask to take it again with her fingers in her mouth.  I appreciate her dedication to this new art form she has discovered, but she may be taking it too far.

Every once in a while, I'll let her take our digital camera out for a spin; some of the pictures she gets are actually good.  It's pretty cool to see the world through your toddlers eyes, but as a photographer, she's getting a little pushy.

When she says pose, you better do it right.  And, it doesn't matter if you have two fingers in your mouth, you better say "Cheese" when she tells you to.

Grandma was only too happy to pose for the little photographer.

I love my daughter and her new found interest in photography, but personally, I think it's time to find new subject matter.  Perhaps fruit?
